The GlenOak High School freshman and Troop 265 Boy Scout hasn’t enlisted, but he is hoping to make life a little more enjoyable for the troops stationed in Kuwait by collecting new and used DVDs to send overseas.

After watching his father battle and survive leukemia, 16-year-old Corey Rhudy knew exactly what he wanted to do for his Eagle Scout project. For the past few months, Corey has been working diligently with Blood Assurance’s Bone Marrow and Donor Recruitment Departments to host a bone marrow and blood drive at the First United Methodist Church of LaFayette on Saturday, Dec. 2 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Max Sharkey can definitely think of a lot of things he’d like to do with just a little bit of free time.
He could be reading his favorite works of non-fiction, like the autobiography of Anthony Kiedis, “Scar Tissue,” that he’s currently working on. He could be listening to his favorite bands, the Beastie Boys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, 311, Run DMC, and Public Enemy.
The Westborough High School sophomore, who has been a Boy Scout since the fifth grade, had a while to go before he needed to start worrying about his Eagle Scout project. Instead, he decided to forgo whatever free time he had and get a jumpstart with his project.
