Monday evening, I replaced my “broken” hard drive with another drive, formatted it and installed the operating system. Everything looked OK at that point, so I started transferring my applications and personal settings from the old hard drive. Still no problems…
Tuesday evening, I came home from work and rebooted the machine, since it had been left to run all available updates during the day. It wouldn’t reboot, it just kept freezing up…
Wednesday evening, I replaced the second hard drive with another drive and installed the OS. As of Thursday morning, the OS was working and all of my apps and settings were transferred. It is currently running all of the OS updates. If this drive “dies” I may have to look at getting a new computer; I guess a machine from 1998 can only last so long…
