We seem to have a problem in our Den that some of the parents seem to have lost interest after the first pack/den meeting and have not showed up to either meeting again. We have a combination of situations including a couple single moms that have multiple children, time issues and money issues. The pack is trying to help out with the money issues but I don’t think some of the parents see the value of scouting for their boys. And I think unfortunately in this climate of anti-religious and anti-patriotic thought parents are as interested in involving their children in an organization that teaches them right from wrong, respect for God, their country and themselves, etc. I think every child should be involved in scouting and learn these ideals. If every boy grew up to be an Eagle Scout this would be a wonderful country. Sorry, I didn’t mean to go off into a rant but Dennis Miller possessed me for a minute. I look forward to your comments.
