Inside Bay Area - Boy Scout leads drug disposal effort
PIEDMONT — Boy Scouts working on a community service project have collected 112 pounds of expired prescriptions and over-the-counter drugs from hundreds of Piedmont houses, including a bottle of sedatives from 1929.
The outdated cough medicine, sleeping pills, mercury thermometers and bottles of children’s medications were collected two weeks ago by Piedmont High School senior John Fullerton and a dozen of his fellow Boy Scouts from Troop No. 1 as part of Fullerton’s Eagle Scout project.
